  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 2cm ginger (optional)
  • 30 gyoza skins (available from most Asian supermarkets)
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp soy sauce

How to prepare:

Boil cabbage leaves. Slice garlic, spring onion and ginger. Add thinly sliced boiled cabbage leaves. Mix veggies with minced pork meat, add soy sauce and sesame oil. Leave it for a few minutes to marinate. Take gyoza skin and place a small ball of the meat and veggies mixture into the middle. Fold the skin in half and pinch at the top to seal it. Now start pleating it together. At the end you will have sealed wrap which has the pleated texture on one side, but is flat on the reverse side. Now heat a little bit of oil in the pan. Place gyoza in it with a flat side facing down. Cook on a high heat until bottom side become crispy. Add a cup of water and cover with a lid. Cook until most of the water evaporated. Drain off the remaining water, add more of the sesame oil and cook uncovered for a few minutes. Place them golden side down on the plate. Serve with a dipping sauce.
