Discover and experience the depth of Kyushu by driving! What better way to enjoy a holiday but by driving around freely throughout nature, the city, world heritage sites, hot springs, and much more. Not to mention, Kyushu is known for some of the BEST food in Japan!
The tour begins in the vibrant city of Fukuoka, then to Mt. Hiko to explore the sacred nature of the area, and experience the hot spring culture in Yufuin and Beppu, a nationally renowned landmark for hot spring "onsens". After visiting Mt. Aso and a hot spring stop over at the famous Kurokawa Onsen, you will return to Fukuoka.

Depart from London Heathrow Airport

Day 2Fukuoka
Arrive at Seoul Incheon Airport at 15:50. Transfer to your flight to Fukuoka at 18:15 on Asiana airlines. Arrive Fukuoka Airport at 19:40                      Transfer to your hotel by subway. It takes only 10 minutes to JR Hakata Station where your hotel is.

Explore Fukuoka at your leisure.

Day 4MT.Hiko
Visit a Toyota car rental shop with the voucher issued in advance. Set off to Mt. Hiko. You will drive though the picturesque mountainsides of Kyushu.

Day 5MT Hiko
Explore the Mt. Hiko area. The area is a great place for hiking, and the shrine on top of Hikosan, which can be visited by cable car or on foot has an impressive bronze gate with the mountains characters  “英彦山” carved on the front.Follow this stepped-stone path all the way to the terminus. It should take about 20 minutes of steep climbing to reach the top of the stairs. If you are an experienced climber, you can do it the entire loop in about 4.5 hours.

Day 6Yufuin 
Check out. Drive to Yufuin which is famous for its hot spring. The town has many art museums and galleries, cafes and boutiques for you to enjoy its culture.
Enjoy a traditional Japanese style dinner and you may wish to try the natural hot spring (onsen) at your ryokan.

Explore the Yufuin area at your leisure.Your accommodation, Musoen’s outdoor baths are considered among Yufuin's best. The ryokan is located slightly above town to the south and has large and attractive baths that are gender separated.

Continue on to the largest hot spring resort in Western Japan, Beppu. One of the most famous hot spring towns in Japan, which has consisted of seven spectacular hot springs named “Jigoku” (Hell) for the large amount of steam they release.

Day 9Kurokawa Onsen
Drive to Mt. Aso before heading to Kurokawa onsen. Mt Aso is famous for its caldera measuring 24 km in length from north to south, 18 km in width from east to west and with a 128 km circumference, it is the largest of its kind in the world.
Mt. Aso is an active volcano, so when it is too active, access its caldera is not allowed.After Mt. Aso, drive to Kurokawa Onsen which is one of the most pleasant hot spring towns in Japan, the volcanic water is sourced from the nearby mountains which include Mt Aso.
Enjoy a traditional Japanese style dinner and you may wish to try the natural hot spring (onsen) at your ryokan.

Upon arrival at Fukuoka return your car. Enjoy the last day in Japan.
